Unlock the 2025 Holiday Update: How to Install Custom Digital Wraps on Your Tesla

The Tesla 2025 Holiday Update has arrived, and while everyone is talking about the software improvements, there is one "hidden" feature that offers the ultimate personalization: Custom Wraps.

Gone are the days of being limited to the stock factory paint colors in your display. With the new "Paint Shop" update, you can now apply custom textures, detailed liveries, or even matte finishes to the 3D model of your Tesla on your touchscreen. Best of all? It syncs to your Tesla App and Apple Watch.

If you want your screen to match your real-life wrap, or if you just want to drive a "Cyberpunk Neon" Model Y in the metaverse, here is your complete, step-by-step guide on how to do it.

What You Need Before You Start

Before you head out to the garage, make sure you have these three things ready:

  1. A Tesla running the 2025 Holiday Update (Check your software tab)
  2. A USB Flash Drive. (You can use the one in your glovebox, but we recommend using a separate one to avoid messing with your Sentry Mode files).
  3. A Computer (Mac or PC) to organize the files.

Step 1: Get Your Custom Wrap Image

You don't need to be a Photoshop expert to do this. There are two ways to get a "skin" for your car.

Option A: The Easy Way (Download Premade Designs) The Tesla community is fast. There are already free libraries where creators upload designs.

  • Check out sites like Tesla-Wrap.com.
  • Browse the gallery, find a design you like (e.g., "Satin Black," "Camo," or "Carbon Fiber"), and download the .png file.

Option B: The DIY Way (For Creators) If you want to design your own, you can download the official templates from Tesla’s GitHub or use T-mod's Paint Editor.

  • Requirements: The file must be a .png.
  • Resolution: Between 512x512 and 1024x1024 pixels.
  • Background: Transparent background is supported.

Step 2: Prepare the USB Drive (Crucial Step!)

This is where most people fail. If you don't name the folder correctly, the car won't see the files.

  1. Plug your USB drive into your computer.
  2. Format the drive: Ensure it is formatted as exFAT or FAT32 (NTFS will not work).
  3. Create a Folder: Create a new folder on the root of the drive and name it exactly: Wraps (Note: It is case-sensitive. Capital 'W', lowercase 'raps'.)
  4. Transfer Files: Drag and drop your downloaded .png images into this Wraps folder.

Step 3: Install in Your Tesla

Now for the fun part. Head out to your car.

  1. Plug the USB drive into the data port (usually in the glovebox or center console).
  2. On the touchscreen, go to the Toybox.
  3. Select Colorizer (or Paint Shop depending on your region).
  4. Tap the "Wraps" tab at the top.
  5. You should see your custom files appear. Select one, and wait a few seconds.

Voila! Your on-screen car will instantly update. Check your phone app—it should update there too!

Troubleshooting Tips

  • "No Wraps Found": Double-check your folder name is exactly "Wraps" and your USB is not formatted as NTFS.
  • Glitchy Image: Ensure your PNG file is under 1MB in size.

Step 4: Customize the Real World (The Finishing Touch)

Now that your Tesla looks unique on the screen, how does it look in real life?

Digital customization is fun, but physical protection is essential. At T-mod, we believe your interior should look as clean and premium as your digital avatar.
